Duncan has more than 35 years of experience in financial markets with a focus on structuring, distribution, and secondary trading. He also has considerable expertise in re-organized equity. He has often been involved in pioneering efforts in new markets as one of the founders of the European high-yield market and as co-founder of an independent brokerage operation in the UK. Having spent 20 years in London with Merrill Lynch and Guggenheim Securities, Duncan brings global relationships and perspectives on public and private market regulatory practices to Summit.
In recent years, Duncan has pursued his entrepreneurial interests, founding European & American Capital Advisors (regulated by Independent Investment Bankers) in the United States, which focuses on placing private investments and related advisory work, often with offerings that have an environmental or impact investment theme. Duncan has been actively engaged with Summit in a number of related projects. He also is an investor, advisor, and board director for several early-stage companies, including Fuel Performance Solutions Ltd (technology that promotes cleaner and more efficient combustion of biodiesel fuel); Veles Water (holds patents for first-ever water index and associated futures contracts); Brooklyn Immunotherapy (restructured cancer drug company); EcoLandCo (Florida-based environmental mitigation bank); Parabel (inventor of Lentein, the newest vegetable-based food source); Egg (Affordable Luxury children’s wear and accessories); Mom Made Foods (healthy convenience meals for kids); and, Dropps (eco-friendly B2C laundry and dishwasher pods). In addition, Duncan is an advisor to Mount Street Portfolio Advisors on a strategic initiative.
Duncan is a graduate of Denison University and is a participant in the Denison Remix Program, which brings together current students, faculty, and graduates to promote entrepreneurship. Duncan began his career in the Credit Training Program of Manufacturers Hanover Trust and then with Discount Corp of New York. He has held volunteer positions as a former Honorary Secretary of the Senior Lawn Tennis Club of Great Britain (2013-2017) and the Commissioner of LondonSports Basketball (2008-2009).
