The client sought to selectively and strategically acquire collection of timberland assets in the U.S. South to place and preserve capital for investment diversification purposes – and possibly to pursue associated business opportunities relating to his core business interests.

Our Role:

Develop and execute a strategy based on a ‘blended’ compensation structure and long term management agreement.

What We Did:

  • Utilized extensive contacts in forest landowning community to identify, target and evaluate prospective acquisitions.
  • Successfully negotiated purchases that met client’s investment parameters
  • Developed and executed forest-level operating plans
  • Provided ongoing management oversight of forestry operations and asset monetization efforts (timber, land, recreation, conservation values).

Results:

Client acquired lands Summit sourced and analyzed and maintains an ongoing relationship with Summit, which continues to provide a variety of land acquisition and management services.
